PhotoTidy Support
For help, email maruotti@icloud.com. During the beta, you can also use Settings → About & Support → Send Beta Feedback.
Photos permission
PhotoTidy needs read/write Photos access to analyze accessible images and send your selected deletions to the system confirmation. Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → PhotoTidy to grant, limit, or revoke access. If access is denied or restricted, you can still explore demo mode.
Limited Access
With Limited Access, PhotoTidy can review only the photos you selected. Use the access-management action in the app or iOS Settings to add or remove accessible photos, then return to PhotoTidy and scan again if an immediate refresh is needed.
Scanning and groups
- Keep PhotoTidy open for the first large scan and allow time for on-device analysis.
- If Automatic Scans is off, pull to refresh in Review to start a manual scan.
- If results look out of sync, first refresh or scan again. Use Reset Local Analysis only when needed; it clears local results and progress but never changes original photos.
- Deletion is available only in Compare and always requires the iOS Photos confirmation.
iCloud Photos preferences
Both optional settings are off by default. “Use iCloud Photos for Scanning” lets PhotoTidy request system-managed originals that are not currently on the device so they can be analyzed. “Load Original Details” lets it request original metadata such as camera, lens, and file size. Neither setting uploads photos to PhotoTidy or creates a separate originals cache.
TestFlight feedback
Please include your device model, iOS/iPadOS version, approximate library size, the screen involved, what you expected, what happened, and steps to reproduce. A screenshot is useful when it does not reveal private content. You may also submit feedback through Apple’s TestFlight app.
Privacy reminder: Do not send private photos or sensitive metadata unless you intentionally choose to share them for troubleshooting.
